Huston, we have a new President

Halifax surfer Justin Huston has officially accepted the position of SANS Co-President.
Huston was offered the position after former President Pat Bannister stepped down in March as a result of increased work demands.
When he’s not surfing, Huston works with the province’s department of Fisheries and Aquaculture.

If you are an instructor for a surf school in Nova Scotia, the Surfriders Association of Nova Scotia (SANS) is offering a free Bronze Cross training course in May.

Team Canada’s four surfers have been eliminated from competition at the 2009 Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championship in Salinas, Ecuador.

Canadian surfers hanging tough

After placing second in Round 1, Tofino, BC surfer Janek Peladeau finished fourth in his Round 2 under-18 qualifying heat at the 2009 World Junior Surfing Championship in Ecuador on Monday.
Peladeau has since been relegated to the repechage rounds along two other Canadian surfers, Kye Peladeau and Frazer Laine-Mayor, who are also from Tofino.
